The celebration of Ireisai was solemnly held last August 16, 2024, at the Mintal Public Cemetery with various local and abroad officials in attendance. It was an inspiring moment to hear the memorial message from the City Mayor Honorable Sebastian Z. Duterte read by Barangay Captain Rey Amador Bargamento. On this occasion, we were privileged to have the Hon. Senator Shiomura Ayaka, who came from Japan to show her condolence to the Japanese migrants who came in 1903. PNJK is likewise honored to have with us Mr. Hisashi Shiroma & Mr. Motoki Matsuoka of the Okinawa Prefectural Government Executive Office of the Governor Peace and Subnational Diplomacy Promotion Division, accompanied by Mr. Michiharu Honda of the Nansei Shoto Industrial Advancement Center. The holding of this annual Ireisai would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the Consulate General Office of Japan in Davao led by Honorable Consul General Yoshihisa Ishikawa with his wife Madam Cherry Pie Ishikawa.
